117 Haitians Detained

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. —
A wooden freighter carrying more than 100 Haitian refugees ran aground south of Miami Beach early Thursday and was towed to a Coast Guard base, officials said. U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service workers went to the base to process the 81 men, 21 women and 15 children before taking them to the agency’s Krome Detention Center.
