Quantum’s Leap: Quantum Health Resources, a home health care company specializing in treating those stricken by rare, debilitating diseases, said Wednesday it has signed a tentative agreement to purchase a Texas competitor.

The buyout of I.V. Clinic Inc. in a stock swap valued at $33 million is expected to be completed by February.

Quantum Health, based in Orange, provides therapy and support services to people with chronic disorders requiring lifelong therapy, such as hemophilia.

The acquisition will give the company access to the Dallas, Houston and Ft. Worth markets, and it will add about $12 million to the company’s annual revenue.
