Three D Departments Inc.: The Costa Mesa retail bed and bath specialty store operator posted a loss of $194,749, or 7 cents a share, for its first fiscal quarter. That contrasted with a profit of $98,375, or 3 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Sales for the quarter that ended Oct. 31 dropped 5% to $10.5 million from $11 million. The company attributed the declines to an increase in store operating expenses and lower sales caused by the weak economy.
