SANTA MONICA : 2nd Teamster Charged in FBI Sting Operation

Share

A second New England Teamsters official has been added to a federal indictment stemming from a Santa Monica-based FBI sting designed to ferret out labor bribery in the film industry.

James M. Moar of Stoneham, Mass., former vice president of Teamster Local 25 in Charlestown, Mass., was arrested Monday on charges of conspiracy and racketeering previously leveled against three reputed Boston-area organized crime figures and a lower-ranking union official. All allegedly accepted bribes for guarantees of labor peace on films that were to be shot in New England and Las Vegas.

But the supposed film company that paid the bribes, David Rudder Productions, actually was an FBI sting, according to the indictment. Trial in the case is scheduled for February in federal court in Boston.
