Bentsen’s Senate Seat to Be Filled Next Month

HOUSTON — Texas Gov. Ann Richards says her choice to fill the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Treasury Secretary-designate Lloyd Bentsen will be announced in early January. Richards said Wednesday that the importance of the job requires that she fully examine the records of the 12 candidates interviewed.
