Slowpokes the Bane of Car-Pool Lanes

Share

Our readers wrote letters throughout 1992, expressing their viewpoints on a variety of issues. Here are condensed versions of some of those letters to help us remember the events that mattered to Orange County readers this past year. We would like to thank the readers who took the time to share their views, and we look forward to hearing from them and others in 1992.

I sure can relate, as many drivers no doubt will, with the complaint of a reader regarding those menacing “slowpoke Annies” of the region’s car-pool lanes.

Why pick on us (car-pool) cowboys? She probably was forced into the car-pool lane by the cowboys in the other lanes for the same reason we pick on her. Has she tried the surface streets?

There’s nothing more aggravating after a hard day’s work than to run into (figure of speech) one of these upstanding citizens who, by gosh, are going to force those cowboys to obey the law. And they must receive great satisfaction in knowing they have us trapped as we can’t get around them.
