GM, Toyota Place 3 Cars Each on AAA Best Buy List: General Motors and Toyota tied with three cars each in the American Automobile Assn.’s rating of the best 1993 models in 10 price categories. AAA rated the cars by price range based on the auto club’s review of 121 new car models. Here are the 10 winners: Toyota Tercel DX and Ford Escort LX tied in the under $10,000 price range; Geo Prizm LSi, $10,000 to $15,000; Dodge Intrepid ES, $15,000 to $20,000; Oldsmobile Eighty Eight LS, $20,000 to $25,000; Saab 9000 CS Turbo, $25,000 to $30,000; Lexus SC 300, $30,000 to $35,000; BMW 525i touring station wagon, $35,000 to $40,000; Cadillac Seville STS, $40,000 to $45,000; Lexus LS 400, $45,000 to $50,000, and Mercedes-Benz 400 SEL, over $50,000.
