FULLERTON : Streets to Be Closed for Celebration

Share

Harbor Boulevard will be closed tonight between Chapman and Commonwealth avenues for the First Night Fullerton celebration.

Police will close the street at 7 p.m. and reopen it at 2 a.m. Friday.

About 10,000 people attended last year’s alcohol-free event, which featured musicians, storytellers and other entertainment.

Tonight, a cartoon movie will be projected onto the side of the Pioneer Bank Building on Harbor Boulevard. Jugglers, information booths and anchored balloons will also fill the street.

Police recommend that motorists use Lemon and Euclid streets to travel north and south through the city while Harbor is closed.

Pomona Avenue between Chapman and Commonwealth avenues will be closed today at 8 a.m., and the portions of Whiting, Wilshire and Amerige avenues between Harbor Boulevard and Pomona Avenue will be closed from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m. Friday.

Admission to First Night Fullerton is $5 in advance, or $7 at the party. Free parking will be available at the Transportation Center parking structure on Pomona, the Plummer Parking building at the corner of Lemon and Chapman, and at public parking lots on Amerige.
