I agree with Reisman that there are not enough major roles for women. I think that there are probably some agents who turn down an actress’s career-making performance just because it is a low-budget film.

Agents should consult with the actress they’re representing and discuss the films that are offered to her. My advice to performers trying to make it is to start reading some of the roles they’re offered. If they don’t, they may never know what kind of roles or chances they’re throwing away.
