Advanced Photonix Moves to Main Amex Stock List

Advanced Photonix Inc. of Camarillo, which was among the first companies to move from NASDAQ to the American Stock Exchange’s Emerging Company Marketplace, has moved again--this time to Amex’s primary stock listing.

Advanced, which makes photodetectors, or light sensors, was one of 21 relatively small concerns that were included in Amex’s Emerging Company group in March.

Thomas T. Lewis, president and chief executive officer of Advanced, said the move to the Amex main list “represents a new plateau in the maturity of our company, expanded visibility in the business community and an exciting platform for growth.”

Advanced’s products include a line of solid-state silicon photodetectors designed to provide an alternative to standard photomultipliers. The products are used in medical imaging and defense.
