TECHNOLOGY: Investigators for the district attorney’s office say they faced what one called an “absolute nightmare” last year in the case of Richard K. Overton, who is accused of the fatal poisoning of his wife. The problem was making copies of Overton’s computer “diaries” without destroying the evidence. . . . On Tuesday county supervisors approved $15,000 for a new computer they hope will solve the problem. Investigator Randy Sorley says the machine can provide copies as clear as “a camera snapshot.”
