Pioneer Unveils New Laser Disc Machine: Pioneer Electronics joined the heated battle over “interactive” home entertainment systems with a laser disc machine designed to play advanced video games and educational programs. The new machine also plays video games from Sega and NEC. Although it will be more expensive than standard game machines, the use of laser disc technology will allow it to incorporate top quality video and still pictures beyond the reach of traditional game systems.
