La Canada Flintridge : City Gets New Recycler
The City Council approved a contract Monday with a new recycler, Bestway of Los Angeles.
The previous company, Circo Recyclers of Irwindale, charged the city $98,385 in 1992 and bid to increase that to $152,232 this year. Bestway was awarded a contract for $95,347.56.
Bestway will be carting away solid waste items such as newspapers, junk mail, aluminum and tin cans, used motor oil, glass bottles, plastic, corrugated cardboard, and pressed foam beginning Feb. 1, public works assistant Mindy Jacobs said.
