Retirement of Sen. Cranston
Your article on Cranston attempted to provide an inside picture of the man who has represented California in the Senate for 24 years. However, nothing in the article was so illuminating as Cranston’s own statement that he will not miss visiting Californians “representing some corporation or entity (who) have to see you even though they have nothing to say . . . I’ve had some of the most aimless conversations in my life with such people.”
I’m sure Cranston would not have the same viewpoint of such unimportant people and view them with such disdain if these same people came offering money for his campaign or some cause that he espoused.
