FROG EGGS: Ricardo Miledi’s research doesn’t make for bestsellers. . . . It was, however, enough to win the UC Irvine psychobiologist a title from the University of Basque Country in northern Spain, namely doctor honoris causa , which means in honor of his work. His work: a method by which human brain molecules are inserted into frog’s eggs to make them act like brain cells. “The technique is widely used to test the effects of new drugs,” Miledi said. “The title is a very great honor.”
