* A. Travis White has been appointed executive vice president and general manager of Western Digital Corp.’s Microcomputer Products Group, effective Feb. 1.

White, 47, will be responsible for the company’s storage LSI, graphics chip, Paradise board and systems logic chipset product lines, as well as the company’s chip manufacturing plant in Irvine. He will report to Chuck Haggerty, president and chief operating officer.

White previously worked as chairman, president and chief executive of Silicon Valley chip manufacturer LSI Logic Corp.’s Canadian operation.
