Milton Frank; U.S. Ambassador to Nepal in Reagan Administration

Milton Frank, 73, U.S. ambassador to the kingdom of Nepal during the Reagan Administration. Born in Reno, Frank grew up in California and graduated from UC Berkeley in 1941. A few months later, he entered the Army Air Corps and served with the Air Force for 27 years, directing communications and electronics groups for Defense Department. He was named to the diplomatic post in Katmandu by President Ronald Reagan during a critical period in Nepal’s relations with neighboring China and India. During Frank’s long career, he served as director of public relations for the California State University system. He retired Jan. 1 as personal assistant to the president of Adelphi University, Garden City, N.Y. On Wednesday in Los Angeles of cancer.
