Man Who Threatened Clinton Is Sentenced
A man who pleaded guilty to threatening the lives of President-elect Bill Clinton and Vice President-elect Al Gore was sentenced Friday to 10 months in prison.
U.S. Judge Paul Hatfield gave Michael J. Staudohar, 40, credit for already serving six months and recommended that he serve the rest of the sentence at a halfway house.
Staudohar, an unemployed clerk, was arrested in July after a former co-worker in Grand Junction, Colo., reported receiving a letter in which Staudohar threatened to kill Clinton and Gore. Staudohar also allegedly threatened to kill his former employer at a liquor store in Grand Junction.
