Giving Credit for Ahmanson
I fully support the concept of local land use issues being decided at the local level and I wholeheartedly support the decision of the Ventura County Board of Supervisors to approve the Ahmanson Ranch project. The result of which will bring into the public domain over 10,000 acres of open space.
I know that these decisions are not arrived at easily. I know that real thought, sincere negotiations and much dedication went into the decision making. Although some may disagree, good decisions by elected officials are arrived at through compromise as well as general consensus. That was certainly the case here.
I commend the board members who voted for this project. It was a decision that took into consideration what was best for the future. That is all anyone can ask, and expect, from our elected officials.
