Lumina Assembly Deal in China Reported Near: General Motors Corp. is close to a deal in which up to 150,000 Chevrolet Lumina minivans would be assembled and sold in China, the trade journal Automotive News said. Thomas McDaniel, GM’s vice president of Asian and Pacific operations, said the leading U.S. auto maker could sign an agreement with an unidentified supplier in southern China within the next few months. The minivan venture would be separate from GM’s existing joint venture in China.
