Monrovia : Ground Water Replenished
The recent downpour brought minor mudslides to Monrovia’s hillsides but good news for the city’s 1993 budget.
Public Works Director Robert Sandwick told the City Council on Tuesday that the ground water supply the city relies heavily upon has been replenished. The city will be able to pump more local water and buy smaller amounts of costly imported water this summer, he said.
Since July 1, Sandwick said, Monrovia has gotten 33.18 inches of rain. The average seasonal rainfall for the city is 21.01 inches.
