GUTTING THE GOSPEL
“The Gospel Truth” illustrates the major problem with liberal biblical scholarship: Because it rejects any possibility of the supernatural, it is unwilling to accept New Testament documents at face value. It comes as no surprise that the seminar rejects any saying of Jesus concerning judgment, Resurrection or his messianic consciousness.
If scholars of classical Greece and Rome treated their ancient documents with the same cavalier attitude as these scholars do, they would be laughed out of their profession.
