The Doe’s Life Became Dear to a Hunter

Share

I was deeply touched by “The ‘Death’ of a Deer Hunter” (Jan. 6). After I stopped crying, I felt appreciative to writer Beverly Beyette and former hunter Ron Lancaster for sharing this story. I firmly believe that those people who can look into the eyes of animals and say they have no souls have only lost sight of their own.

I thank Lancaster for having the strength to look into that doe’s eyes and change his behavior, and I hope he continues to tell his story.

I also thank you for writing about this event in the hope that more people may open their eyes and cease their violence on living beings.
