VENTURA : Police Will Make Sobriety Checks
The Ventura Police Department has announced that it will set up several sobriety checkpoints on the city’s streets this evening in an effort to discourage drunk driving.
The checkpoints will be set up at locations where drunk-driving accidents have occurred, said Ventura Police Sgt. George Morris.
“Our goal is to deter motorists from driving while impaired,” Morris said.
Traffic officers at the checkpoints will hand out leaflets with information about accidents caused by impaired motorists, Morris said.
