Gays, the Bible and the Constitution

I am truly amazed at Dorothy Mann’s presumption that she knows who is and who is not a sinner.

She claims the Bible as her authority, but my understanding of the Bible is that only God has authority to judge.

Furthermore, Dorothy Mann presumes to know God’s plan for all human beings. What she seems to miss is that God did, in fact, create at least one person, namely me, to be a homosexual.

Perhaps she thinks God made a mistake, and that if only he had listened to her, he wouldn’t have gotten off track.

When I was younger and deeply committed to church doctrine, I also thought I had all the answers. I denied my homosexuality, married, and fathered four children. I tried like hell to make it work--to be something I wasn’t. Well, it didn’t work. (As a matter of fact, I messed up a lot of lives.)

Now I no longer attempt to judge God’s plan. I only try to do the best I can with what I’ve been given. The rest is up to God.
