Winery Sale: Huntington Beach Co. said Tuesday that it has agreed to sell its Vinwood Cellars winery in Geyersville, Calif., to another Northern California winery.

Kendall-Jackson Vineyards & Winery, which operates a facility in Lake County, submitted the strongest of several bids that Huntington Beach Co. received after it put the Vinwood operation up for sale in September. The price was not disclosed.

Chevron Corp., the San Francisco-based parent of Huntington Beach Co., has been selling off some non-core assets in recent years.

The transaction, which includes a 75,000-square-foot winery and 58 acres of vineyards, is expected to close in the spring. Huntington Beach Co., which is based in San Francisco but owns land in Huntington Beach, will keep a 5,300-acre ranch property in the hills near the Vinwood operation and another 200 acres of nearby vineyards for investment purposes.
