Arson Attack in Germany

Three Turks were injured Thursday in a pre-dawn arson attack on three homes occupied by foreigners, police said. The attack appeared to be a continuation of far-right violence against foreigners that claimed 17 lives in Germany last year in more than 2,100 incidents.

Attacks by extremists have slowed since Germans began staging huge demonstrations to condemn the rightist violence.

Police said swastikas were painted on the three houses. Gasoline was poured on the buildings about 2:30 a.m. and they were set on fire, causing heavy damage.
