Picabo Street of the United States turned in the fastest downhill run of the day--1 minute 26.64 seconds--to take a surprising silver medal in the women’s combined competition of the World Alpine Ski Championships at Shizukuishi, Japan. Miriam Vogt of Germany won the gold medal.
