Minebea Co. Sells Interest in NMB Semiconductor

Minebea Co. of Japan, as expected, has sold its majority stake in NMB Semiconductor Co. to Nippon Steel Corp., but the sale does not involve any transfer of NMB Technologies Inc. in Chatsworth.

NMB Technologies is Minebea’s sales and marketing division for North America.

Although the company had relied on NMB Semiconductor for about 30% of its sales, the division said it has been shifting its focus to other product lines to offset the loss.

NMB Technologies, with 120 employees, also markets keyboards, fans, motors and speakers to the personal-computer industry.
