Fourth-seeded Ivan Lendl and seventh-seeded Richard Krajicek were eliminated in the second round at the $800,000 Milan Indoor tournament at Milan, Italy. Lendl lost to unseeded Wally Masur of Australia, 7-6 (7-1), 4-6, 6-4, and Krajicek lost to Sergi Bruguera of Spain, 6-4, 7-6 (9-7).
