I am delighted to see the terms “technophobic” and “anti-technology advocates” used in the rational discourse of ideas.

Unwise survival strategies begin with a misconception of how the world works. The process of uncovering physical truth we call science is our greatest tool for survival. There are individuals, groups and whole professions in our society that are suspicious of science and its application, technology. They are fundamentally misinformed about what technology can and cannot do.

They radically misunderstand physical reality, and those who pursue it. They force our leaders, either by the manipulation of public opinion or through litigation, to make impractical, shortsighted and dangerous decisions.

These are the technophobes. The first step toward neutralizing an evil is to name it, and so, ignorance has another name.
