Colorado voters would be able to reject all of the candidates in a race and force a new election with new candidates under a bill proposed Monday in the state Senate.

Sen. Tilman Bishop introduced the bill that would allow voters to choose “none of the above” in any race on the ballot. If “none of the above” won, a new election would be held.

“How many times have you thought, ‘I don’t want to vote for any of those candidates,’ ” Bishop said.

The bill, co-sponsored in the House by Rep. Tim Foster, would not apply to ballots for the retention of judges, Bishop said.
