SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Study to Seek Ways for District to Save
In an effort to find new savings, Capistrano Unified School District trustees this week unanimously approved spending $10,000 for a study of how the district operates.
“The long-term prospects for financing education in California are bleak,” Supt. James A. Fleming said in a report to the Board of Trustees. “While the governor’s proposed 1993-94 budget maintains current levels of funding, the reality is that a serious deficit looms in the current fiscal year.”
In coming weeks, a consulting firm, the Avalon Group of San Juan Capistrano, will spend more than 100 hours interviewing district employees, analyzing the budget and writing a report which will offer ideas for improving efficiency and saving money.
