Space Shuttle Pumps Had Right Parts, NASA Says

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. —
Three engine pumps removed from the shuttle Columbia as a safety precaution contain the right parts after all, NASA officials said Thursday. Shuttle managers delayed Columbia’s launch until mid-March so that the liquid oxygen turbopumps could be inspected to be certain that new retainers had been installed as intended.
