HOLLYWOOD : Judge Refuses to Lift Curfew at Palladium
- Share via
A judge on Friday refused to lift curfew restrictions imposed on the Hollywood Palladium that operators contend will force the closure of the landmark ballroom.
Citing recent violence, the City Council last week ordered the Palladium to close its doors by 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, by 11 p.m. on Sundays and by midnight the rest of the week.
The owners had asked Superior Court Judge Robert O’Brien to temporarily lift the restrictions, saying that eight acts had already canceled and that others were threatening to do so. A Palladium spokeswoman said the ruling would not affect a concert Friday by rock bands Flower Power and Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, saying it would end before 1 a.m.
