The snow was fake and the glaciers were made of foam, but a snowmobile manufacturer found this desert city a good place to introduce its 1994 model line.

“Our dealers work hard all year in cold and adverse conditions. It’s nice to get them out of that weather,” said Russell M. Davis, vice president of marketing and sales for Ski-Doo of Wausau, Wis.

Ski-Doo rolled out its latest snowmobiles before 1,200 dealers and distributors.

The show was Ski-Doo’s second in Tucson.

“We’d like to think we’ll come back,” said Davis. “The dealers are all leaning towards sunshine.”
