Joan S. Kantor Sentenced to Prison: The former Beverly Hills-based businesswoman was sentenced to more than three years in prison and ordered to pay $28 million in restitution for her role in a bond scam that bilked hundreds of Southland investors out of an estimated $39 million. Kantor, 41, had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of securities fraud and one count of filing a false tax return while she was president of FSG Financial Services Inc., a now-defunct investment firm that federal prosecutors said was formed to market worthless municipal bonds. The ringleader of the scam, John Anthony Genetti of Santa Barbara, was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison and ordered to make about $28 million in restitution earlier this month.
