Advanced Photonix Signs With Japanese Firm

Advanced Photonix Inc., a Camarillo producer of photo-sensitive devices used in security systems, medical scanners and other products, has signed a joint manufacturing and marketing agreement with a Japanese company, Matsusada Precision Devices Inc.

The deal will give Advanced access to Asian markets and could increase revenues by 15%, according to marketing manager Shawn Fagen. He said sales totaled $2.2 million in the three months ended Dec. 31 and are continuing at that pace in the current quarter.

Under the agreement, Matsusada will market the partnership’s products throughout Asia while Advanced will sell the products in the United States and Europe.
