Slide Still Blocks Amtrak Trains
Amtrak officials said Monday that train service between Santa Ana and San Diego would not be available through at least Wednesday because of a landslide in San Clemente.
Late Monday, officials said in a tape recording that chartered bus service between Santa Ana and San Diego would be available at Orange County train stations.
“The trains are only running as far south as Santa Ana,” said a spokeswoman. She said Amtrak hopes to resume full service on Thursday.
For information about schedules of chartered buses, commuters may call (800) USA-RAIL.
