CMS Adds Distributor: CMS Enhancements Inc. said Tuesday that a newly created subsidiary has agreed to buy some assets of an East Coast computer distributor for an undisclosed price.

CMS said it formed the subsidiary, CDS Distribution Inc., to serve the computer distribution industry.

“This will be part of a flagship distribution operation, a larger business,” said Mike Rusert, an executive at CMS.

The new company agreed to acquire assets from Vitronix Inc., a distributor in Westboro, Mass. CDS plans to hire 12 of Vitronix’s employees.

CMS, based in Irvine, makes computer add-on equipment such as hard-disk drives and other storage products.
