Jerre Davenport of Rowland Heights has been named Woman of the Year from the 60th Assembly District.
Davenport is chair of Operation Safe Community, an organization dedicated to educating the community to guard against gangs, drugs and graffiti.
Previously she worked for the Rowland Unified School District as staff assistant to the Board of Education. She currently is a member of the Board of Education.
Davenport was selected for the award by Assemblyman Paul Horcher (R-Diamond Bar), who represents the district. The program is sponsored by the Woman’s Caucus of the California Legislature.
