Spring Break Nature Classes--The Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim is hosting three themed sessions of spring break classes for children.

The session and class themes are as follows:

ANIMAL INTERACTION

* March 22--”Bringing Up Babies”

* March 23--”The Hunter and the Hunted”

* March 24--”Friend or Foe?”

* March 25--”Leader of the Pack”

* March 26--”Animal Talk”

AROUND THE WORLD

* March 29--”Life on the Icecaps”

* March 30--”Discovering the Deserts”

* March 31--”Jungle Rivers”

* April 1--”Grassland and Plains”

* April 2--”Pond Life”

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

* April 5--”Rain Forests”

* April 6--”Endangered Species”

* April 7--”Pollution Solutions”

* April 8--”Conservation Strategies”

* April 9--”Living Lightly on the Earth”

Each day will feature hikes, games and activities. The classes are open to children ages 5 to 10. The fee is $8 per class.

Parents can sign their children up for more than one class. However, class size is limited so early registration is urged.

The center is at 6700 E. Walnut Canyon Road in Anaheim.

Marsh Bird Walk--The Sea & Sage chapter of the National Audubon Society is hosting monthly bird-watching walks at the San Joaquin Freshwater Marsh, which is next to its Audubon House. The next walk will be March 14 at 9 a.m.

To reach the Audubon House, where the walk will start, take the San Diego Freeway to the Jamboree Road exit, head south. Turn left at Michelson Drive, and then make a right at the second signal onto Irvine Ranch Water District property. Follow the paved road and “Duck Club” signs to the house.
