COUNTYWIDE : Driver Critically Injured in Crash
A Ventura man was in critical condition Saturday after he lost control of his car and slammed head-on into another vehicle on California 150, authorities said.
Douglas Brunner, 39, was westbound about four miles west of Santa Ana Road at 10:25 a.m. when his Toyota crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a Cadillac driven by Richard Clift, 61, of Santa Barbara, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.
Brunner was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, the CHP said. He was airlifted to Ventura County Medical Center with major head injuries and fractured ribs, the CHP said.
