James F. Guthrie and Efrem (Skip) Zimbalist III have been elected vice presidents of Times Mirror Co.
Guthrie, 48, becomes vice president and chief financial officer, responsible for the accounting, treasury, tax, real estate, financial planning and analysis and investor relations functions for the Los Angeles-based company. Guthrie has been senior vice president and chief financial officer of Times Mirror Cable Television since 1982.
Zimbalist becomes vice president of strategic development. He will direct the strategic planning and business development activities of Times Mirror. Zimbalist, 45, joined Times Mirror last year as assistant to the group vice president of newspapers.
Prior to joining Times Mirror, Zimbalist was chairman and chief executive of Correia Art Glass Inc.
