SUN VALLEY : Todd Bridges Arrested in Stabbing of Tenant

Former child actor Todd Bridges, who has had a history of drug abuse and run-ins with the law, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed his tenant with a kitchen knife in his Sun Valley house, Los Angeles police said Monday.

David Kitchen, 23, suffered a puncture wound to his right lung in a fight with Bridges on Sunday afternoon, Lt. Stella Mattson said. Kitchen, who has rented a bedroom in Bridges’ two-story house on the 10500 block of Dora Street for about a month, was in serious condition Monday at Holy Cross Medical Center, she said.

Kitchen was arguing with his girlfriend in his room at about noon, Mattson said, when Bridges, 27, confronted them and told them to be quiet or leave the house. Bridges told officers that he had argued with Kitchen over unpaid rent. The two men gave differing versions of the altercation, and each claimed self-defense.
