The Region : 100 Apply for Storm Aid
About 100 San Gabriel Valley residents have applied since early February for state and federal grants or loans to help cover property losses caused by this winter’s heavy rains and floods, officials said.
Residents whose homes, personal property or businesses were damaged during the storms have until April 5 to apply by telephone for state and federal assistance to cover uninsured or underinsured losses.
The state Office of Emergency Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have closed their countywide temporary walk-in Disaster Application Centers. But applicants can still register by calling (800) 462-9029 or, for those with hearing or speech impairments, (800) 462-7585.
