Long Beach : 3 Choirs Will Give Concert Night Before AIDS Walk
Three area choirs will give a concert Saturday night to help kick off the Long Beach AIDS Walk fund-raiser Sunday.
The Jane Hardester Singers, the First Congregational Church Choir and the South Coast Chorale will perform at 8 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Long Beach.
“A Time for Remembrance” will intersperse musical selections with 14 monologues from the off-Broadway play “Elegies for Fairies, Punks and Raging Queens” by Bill Russell. The monologues reflect the experiences of men, women and children with AIDS.
The choirs from Long Beach and Torrance will ask for donations.
