Amtrak Train Hits Propane Truck; Driver Dies in Blast

KALAMAZOO, Mich. —
A propane truck slid on a snow-covered road into the path of an Amtrak passenger train Wednesday, killing the truck driver in an explosion felt a half-mile away, authorities said. None of the 46 passengers aboard the Chicago-to-Detroit train was injured. The train engineer was hospitalized in fair condition with first- and second-degree burns.
