When drought hits a South American forest, who’s typically in charge of organizing the digging of a well to replenish the water? Bet you hadn’t given that one much thought before.

In the story “The Jaguar’s Fountain,” when the drought comes the Jaguar takes charge, orders the smaller animals to dig the well, and then takes control of the precious commodity. That is, until Rabbit challenges Jaguar and brings peace, once again, to the forest.

The story will be part of a performance by the “Magical Moonshine Theater” puppet troupe of Northern California, when it visits the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History at 3 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free with admission to the museum: $3 (adults), $2 (senior citizens and children ages 13-17) and $1 (children ages 12 and younger). The museum is at 2559 Puesta del Sol Road. For more information call 682-4711.
