A 15-year-old boy was arrested Thursday in the slayings of a Los Angeles couple as they drove home Tuesday from their View Park-area ice cream shop.

The name of the youth was withheld because of his age, said Los Angeles Sheriff’s spokeswoman Irma Becerra.

Investigators said that Preecha Rusitanonta, 44, and his wife, Adelina, 45, had closed their Baskin-Robbins store and were on their way home when they were confronted by a gunman who had climbed into the back seat of their station wagon.

The couple was forced to drive several blocks from their business, where they were shot to death about 10:15 p.m. Their station wagon crashed into a light pole at Presidio Drive and Lorado Way.

Residents who heard the gunfire saw a man walk from the vehicle and speed off in an awaiting van, an older, dark-blue model with an oval window on the side, investigators said.
